Kiva Cup

Annual Golf Tournament

The Kiva Cup is an invitational golf tournament that takes place every July in the mountains of Colorado. The gentlemen who play are long time friends who come together to have a great time and more recently to contribute money to a charity of the winners choosing. The Kiva Cup has been played since 2005 and will continue to be a great tradition in years to come.

Our Story

Back in the early 2000s, a group of guys who owned a condo in Breckenridge started attending a guys golf outing in mid-July.

It started as a 4 person casual golf weekend, but by the next year, they had 8, then 12. As the years rolled on, the guys started putting together a more formal “tournament” with handicapped scoring, different formats for each round, and a Saturday dinner.

Soon after that, they added a charity pot and a Friday practice round. They also began to play and stay at different places in the mountains of Colorado and again expanded the tournament. However, the date of the tournament, the third weekend in July, always stayed the same to allow everyone to continue to plan for the event.

Now after many years, the tournament consists of friends new and old, and from near and far. The format and setup of the tournament consist of a Friday practice round, two rounds on Saturday, a tournament dinner Saturday night, and a final round on Sunday. The charity pot is distributed to the winner’s charity of choice. Some recent charities include the Global Down Syndrome Foundation, ChildHelp USA, and the Evans Scholars Foundation.
